OMEGA screening with filmmakers Ben Hernstrom

  • Union Hall 1750 Wewatta Street, Suite 144 Denver, CO, 80202 United States (map)

Join us for a screening of Omega, a 31-minute narrative film by Ben Hernstrom, a recent graduate of CU Boulder’s MFA program. Omega tells the story of a researcher who decides to remain on Earth after an ecological collapse forces humanity to search for a new home, and examines how technologies influence, instigate or interfere with identity.

Ben Hernstrom grew up in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, a crumbling steel town outside of Pittsburgh. He makes experimental narratives, documentaries and installations. His works have been exhibited in galleries and museums such as the Andy Warhol Museum, the Mattress Factory, and the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts among others. He has screened works in Scandinavia, in domestic festivals and on television.

Tickets are $10 per person and can be purchased on Union Hall’s website. Free wine and popcorn will be served beginning at 6:45pm and the film screening will begin promptly at 7:15pm. Q&A with Ben Hernstrom to follow.
