How does our perception shape our understanding of our surroundings? This exhibition, Perception Shift, investigates how different materials— projected light, shadow, ceramic, graphite, glass, and metal— can work alongside each other to shift the viewer’s way of seeing. The work presented from artists Alli Lemon, Natalie Thedford, Kimberley Bianca, Hala Abubaker and Andrea de Leon is connected through its exploration of reality and ability to alter the gaze of the viewer, to challenge us to see differently, and to free ourselves from expectations. Curated by Amy Hoagland, Perception Shift seeks to guide viewers through an exploration of their own realities— to provoke a deeper understanding of ourselves in this world.
