ONEWEARE presents Movie Night c/o The Popcorn & Jalapeños Podcast

  • Union Hall 1750 Wewatta Street, Suite 144 Denver, CO, 80202 United States (map)

ONEWEARE presents a night of film & community c/o the creative duo & film aficionados Nate Bishop & Blake Jackson of The Popcorn & Jalapeños Podcast. The art, visuals, & sound of the NEUwave exhibition is the background as we journey through a night of cinematic excellence.

The feature film of this Movie Night installment is based on James Baldwin’s 1974 novel, his 5th novel, and 13th book overall. In this novel, Baldwin composes a poetic black love story set in Harlem in the early 1970s. The only novel in his corpus narrated by a woman, published at the tail end of the Black Arts Movement. The novel explores love within black life, rooted in the emotional bonds holding two African families in America together.

If Beale Street Could Talk is poetically gorgeous & an extraordinarily captivating film. A celebration of love told through the story of a young couple, trying to bring about justice through love and the promise of the American dream.

Movie Begins : 7PM, Film Run Time : 1HR 59MIN
