Morphing Chaos
is an interactive performance related to Kimberley Bianca’s projected video artwork in Perception Shift. The performance explores the most abundant thing that connects all living and nonliving things — space. Like the generative graphics that drive the visuals, the performance is nonlinear, so the audience can come and go throughout the duration.
This is a participatory performance: you are encouraged to interact with the performance elements by bringing an object smaller than the palm of your hand (small rock or stone). You can handle it delicately above a sensor or tap them together in front of a microphone. These movements will generate visuals within a projected image and contribute to sound effects. The performance asks participants to recognize their interaction with these objects visually as an opportunity to perceive and interact with the space in a unique way.
You are welcome to approach Disaster Girl throughout the duration of the performance to interact with the artist, ask her questions, and see how she produces the audiovisual effects.
What to bring: bring a sentimental object to interact with the video projection. A sensor will track the movement of your hand and the object within it to create visuals.
