MADE KNOWNIn Made Known, the makers, artists, and artisans place themselves, their story and personhood so intimately into their craft that it is impossible to separate the maker from object. Those experiencing the work are indelibly connected to the maker as individual human in their autobiographical storytelling, rejecting capitalism’s division of labor. There is no way to view these works and not think about the artisan and the movements of their hand and heart. The care in craft, the process of skill, the movements of the hand, connected to a body, manipulating the material, becomes the medium which these artists make themselves known to the world.
